On April 4, 2025, the UN Global Compact in Ukraine and “IP Cert” LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Actions in Anti-Corruption, based on the principles of transparency, integrity and the fight against corruption.

Within the framework of this cooperation, the Parties seek to contribute to increasing the level of trust in business, ensuring equal conditions for conducting business activities and developing ethics corporate governance. The initiative is based on the principles of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the Inter-American Convention against Corruption, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Anti-Corruption Rules, and Principle 10 of the UN Global Compact on Corruption.

“IP Cert” LLC became the 64th organization that declared its intention to work together to prevent and combat corruption in Ukraine at all levels, and also undertook the following obligations: to implement the best global practices in promoting transparency and combating corruption in its business practices;to implement effective internal processes to prevent any manifestations of corruption.

Anti-corruption principles are not only part of the internal policy of “IP Cert” LLC, but also an important component of the service that the company offers to clients within the framework of ESG compliance. Joining the UN Global Compact initiative allows not only to maintain a culture of integrity within the company, but also to spread this approach among Ukrainian agribusiness through practical cases, training and consultations.

The UN Global Compact has initiated collective action against corruption within local networks, supported by the Third Round of funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative. The project aims to support collective action by local UN Global Compact networks and foster cooperation between public and private actors in the fight against corruption. Its goal is not only to combat bribery, extortion and other forms of corruption, but also to eliminate it throughout the supply chain.

Anti-corruption is one of the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, which should be at the heart of every business. The Anti-Corruption Collective Action Initiative aims to increase business transparency and strengthen private-public cooperation to combat corruption in Ukraine.As part of the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Initiative, the UN Global Compact in Ukraine initiated a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Anti-Corruption Action in Ukraine, which declares support for increasing the level of transparency and integrity in the Ukrainian business environment.

By signing the Memorandum, companies:

–       commit to promoting transparency and integrity in their operations;

–       commit to implementing and maintaining standards of ethical conduct within the organization;

–       seek to increase public trust in business by demonstrating responsibility and transparency;

–       are ready to cooperate with other companies, government agencies and public organizations to achieve common goals;

–       support initiatives aimed at preventing corruption, including training and raising awareness of their employees.

The UN Global Compact in Ukraine is a local network of the world’s largest community of responsible businesses. This is the official representative in Ukraine of the global network UN Global Compact (United Nations Global Compact), which calls on companies to build their activities and strategy taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals and based on the Ten Principles in the field of human rights, labor protection, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

Principle 10 of the UN Global Compact – Businesses should combat all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery. There are many reasons why eliminating corruption has become a priority in the business community. Trust in business among investors, customers, employees and the public has been undermined by recent business ethics scandals around the world. Businesses face high ethical and business risks, leading to potential costs, when they fail to effectively combat corruption in all its forms.The UN Global Compact provides that participants consider the following three elements when fighting corruption and implementing the tenth principle:Internal – as the first and main step, to implement anti-corruption policies and programs within their organizations and their business processes;External – report on the fight against corruption in the annual Progress Report, as well as share experiences and best practices;Collective – join forces with other stakeholders to increase anti-corruption efforts, improve the playing field, and create fair competition for all.

Anti-Corruption Collective Action is an international anti-corruption program, which the Ukrainian UN DG network joined in September 2020. It is open to the participation of a wide range of stakeholders.

The Siemens Integrity Initiative is a global program established by Siemens as part of its commitment to combating corruption and promoting integrity in the business environment. The initiative was founded in 2009 as a result of the global settlement of the Siemens anti-corruption scandal. As part of the agreement, the company agreed to invest more than $100 million in promoting integrity through support for independent projects.
