In December 2023, the Ukrainian company “I.P.Cert” became a participant in the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest community of responsible businesses. The company committed to adhering to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in four areas: human rights protection, labor relations, environmental conservation, and anti-corruption.
I.P.Cert is a relatively young Ukrainian company based in Kyiv with a staff of 10 employees. LLC “I.P.Cert” provides solutions for sustainable agriculture, assistance in measuring and minimizing environmental impact, compliance services (ISCC, REDCert, GMP), export support consultations, agricultural crop certification support, greenhouse gas emission calculations, development of greenhouse gas reduction projects, carbon farming, and adherence to Sustainable Development Goals.
LLC “I.P.Cert” aims to make sustainable development a priority in its work with clients and the creation of services for them.
«We want sustainable innovations to be part of the structure of agricultural solutions we provide. We have made our office more resource-efficient and generate less plastic and paper waste. We apply resource optimization in our activities and avoid the use of plastic. Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the company chose four most closely related to its activities and specified sub-goals:
2.4 By 2030, ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, that help maintain ecosystems, that strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme weather, drought, flooding and other disasters and that progressively improve land and soil quality.
5.5 Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.
12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.
13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
Ukrainian farmers have suffered significant material and financial losses due to the war. This includes worsening export potential, increasing prices for agricultural products, and reducing incomes. “Living Cropland” is a project of LLC “I.P.Cert” aimed at addressing these problems and contributing to the restoration of the agricultural landscape in Ukraine.
The project addresses a range of complex problems related to the Russian-Ukrainian war and the refugee crisis in Ukraine. The project’s goal — promoting and supporting the implementation of regenerative land use methods — aligns with the urgent needs of Ukrainian small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises facing numerous difficulties.
In addition to environmental benefits, the project will provide potential financial support that Ukrainian farmers can receive from selling carbon credits. This income will be a significant lifeline for small and medium-sized business farmers currently struggling with the terrible consequences of the war, such as territorial losses, environmental pollution, lack of river water for irrigation needs, material and technical obstacles due to disrupted access to Black Sea ports, and increased costs of cultivation.
The project is aimed at addressing the urgent need for the reconstruction and regeneration of agriculture, particularly in war-affected regions. By promoting regenerative practices, the project not only helps revive damaged lands but also provides a source of hope and livelihood for displaced farmers returning to their homes or starting anew in new territories.

17 Sustainable Development Goals
In September 2015, all 193 members of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future together. The next 15 years are dedicated to efforts to eradicate extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet. At the heart of the “2030 Agenda” are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which clearly define the world we strive for all nations without exception. The new Global Goals are the result of a more inclusive process than ever before: governments have engaged businesses, civil society, and citizens. We all share a common vision of where the world should be heading. Achieving these ambitions requires unprecedented efforts from all sectors of society – and business has an incredibly important role to play in this process.
